Privacy policy

Almost everything stays on your phone. Your answers, your height log, your sleep and food logs and your prediction are stored on the device and are not uploaded anywhere. You do not need an account to use the app.

There is no analytics, advertising or tracking. No analytics service, no attribution SDK, no advertising identifier, no third-party tracker. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not build profiles for advertising.

Four things do leave your phone, and only when you use the feature that needs them: the community, the meal photo scanner, the coach, and your subscription. Each one is described below.

Everything you enter during the quiz and everything you log afterwards is held in the app’s own storage on your phone:

• your sex, date of birth, height, weight, shoe size and your parents’ heights
• your answers about puberty, sleep, diet, sports and your goal height
• your height log, sleep log, food log, exercise log, habits and streak
• your prediction, which is calculated on the phone from the above

We cannot see any of it. Deleting the app deletes it, and “Reset all data” in the app clears it without uninstalling.

If you create a community profile, that profile and what you post are stored on our behalf by Supabase so other people can see them. That means your chosen username, your optional bio, your current height (shown beside your posts), your posts and comments, your votes, and any reports or blocks you make.

The community is text only — there is no way to post a photo, deliberately. Post text is checked automatically before it appears; see the Community Rules.

You can delete your community profile from the app at any time, which removes it and your posts. The rest of the app keeps working without one.

If you photograph a meal, the photo is sent to our server and on to Anthropic’s Claude model, which names the food so the app can log it. The photo is not stored — it is analysed and discarded. It is not attached to your name, because the app does not have one.

If you ask the coach a question, the question, the recent messages in that chat and a short summary of your own numbers — your age, sex, current and projected height and your daily nutrition targets — are sent the same way so the answer can be about you. If you attach a photo to a question, it goes too.

If you scan a barcode, the barcode number is sent to Open Food Facts, a public food database, to look up the product. Nothing about you is sent with it.

Subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple. We never see your payment details. We use Adapty to tell the app whether a subscription is active, which means Adapty receives purchase events and a device-scoped identifier from your phone. Apple also provides us aggregate sales reporting, which is not tied to individuals.

MaxHeight is written for teenagers and their parents, which is the age at which a height prediction means anything. The community has a minimum age of 13: you confirm your age when you create a profile, and community accounts are not available to anyone younger.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created a community profile, email us and we will remove it. Purchases should be made by an adult, or with a parent’s permission.

The app asks for two permissions and no others: the camera, for photographing a meal, and your photo library, for picking one you already took. It does not read your photo library beyond the image you choose. It does not ask for or use your location, your contacts, your microphone, your health records or HealthKit, and it does not request tracking permission because there is nothing to track you with.

On-device data stays until you delete it or delete the app. Community content stays until you delete your profile or a moderator removes it. Reports are kept while we deal with them.

Depending on where you live you may have the right to see, correct, export or delete the personal information we hold. For the community that is in the app; for anything else, email us and we will do it.
